The Siona is an ancient indigenous community that resides mostly in the Amazon region of Ecuador and Colombia, located in the Cuyabeno Wildlife Production Reserve<\/strong><\/a>, located in the province of Sucumbios. With an estimated population of approximately 500 to 600 people in Ecuador, the Siona are recognized for their rich cultural tradition and their harmonious relationship with the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since historical times, the Siona have belonged to indigenous groups belonging to the western Tukano linguistic family. Over the centuries, they have preserved traditional customs that include spiritual rituals, the use of medicinal plants and a way of life based on the resources provided by the forest.<\/span><\/p>\n
